This autumn we will launch our brand new web shop, featuring the full collection of artefacts.
High res. pictures and press information
Founded in 2020 by architect and designer Viktor Erlandsson, the brand began as a personal study in uncompromised design. It is a growing selection of objects defined by purpose and the craft of their making, without adjusting to anything but the natural laws and our own visions.
What began with hand-crafted pieces made together with Swedish artisans has since expanded to include industrial production, yet always with the same uncompromising intent. While some artefacts still demand meticulous handcraft and small-scale production, others embrace industrial precision – expanding the boundaries of how our design philosophy can be realised.
Designed by us, made real by the hands of skilled makers. Every artefact is created with intent, to hold presence and meaning in the rituals of everyday life.

Artefact No 15 – just launched
Like the foundation of a building – the stable base that supports the structure above – Artefact No 15 is a symbol of strength and simplicity. It is built on architectural principles, where every detail serves a purpose and all excess has been stripped away.
The candle holder stands as a solid, square block from which four slender rods rise, enclosing the candle to hold it in place. The thin rods ensure that the entire candle remains visible, displayed in its full form, just as it is. The shape is inspired by reinforcement bars protruding from a freshly cast concrete slab, capturing the essence of construction.
Unlike previous artefacts, which are handcrafted in small-scale production, Artefact No 15 is the first in the collection to explore an industrial manufacturing process. Produced in Guangdong, this approach allows the piece to be more widely available while simultaneously reinforcing its conceptual foundation – a design rooted in construction and raw materiality. With this, Artefact No 15 introduces a new layer to the collection, demonstrating how industrial precision and thoughtful design can coexist.
Designed to amplify the atmosphere of the space, Artefact No 15 fits seamlessly into any setting. It occupies little visual space or volume yet maintains a distinct presence. The polished steel surface reflects its surroundings, adding a subtle elegance, while the raw simplicity of the form accentuates the natural beauty of the candle.
Artefact No 15 works just as well on its own as in a group and can easily be combined with others to create a richer lighting environment. On a set table, it becomes a discreet yet striking detail that allows the living flames to speak for themselves.
With its transparent silhouette, Artefact No 15 highlights the bare candle, uniting rawness with elegance. This is not just a candle holder – it is a tribute to the simple beauty of functional design and a step forward in expanding the Artefacts collection into new realms of production and accessibility.
